Jailbreak news of the week: Trigon deterministic kernel exploit, Extrude, Presets, & more…

You can count on your friends at iDownloadBlog to keep you in the know about everything happening in the iPhone and iPad jailbreak communities. Not only do we cover the latest in terms of device hacks and exploits, but we also share jailbreak tweak releases and updates on a regular basis throughout the week.
For those who are too busy to keep up with the news as it happens, we conveniently make roundup pieces just like this one so that you can see a sky-high overview over everything you may have missed from this past work week. This roundup will encompass everything spanning Monday, February 24th to Sunday, March 2nd.
Important stuff from this week
Trigon deterministic kernel exploit
Security researcher @alfiecg_dev published a write-up about a new deterministic kernel exploit called Trigon that is based on the same CVE-2023-32434 bug that the Kernel File Descriptor (KFD) exploit used, except that being deterministic means that it can’t fail and is highly reliable.
This has serious implications for some existing jailbreaks, should be be updated to take advantage of it. That’s because the exploit process will be more reliable, more stable, and potentially even faster.
You can learn more about the details of Trigon in our full news post.
JIT shown working on iOS 18.4 developer beta 1
Just-in-time (JIT) compilation is a method of translating proprietary programming code into universal machine code for enhanced software performance across various systems, and Apple seems to be putting the kibosh on it for sideloaded apps starting with iOS & iPadOS 18.4 developer beta 1.
Fortunately, a hacker has found a tedious workaround that involves the iOS debugger, and they’ve shared a screenshot of the process working with the Minecraft video game.
You can see this in action in our full news post.
Extrude
The new Extrude app for jailbroken iOS 15 and later devices works a lot like Windows Task Manager or macOS Activity Monitor, empowering users to view and manage background tasks and processes on a whim.
You can use this app to pause or terminate those processes, which can be useful when you experience a system freeze or hang, but this doesn’t come without risks, as certain processes impact core device features.
You can learn more about Extrude in our full review post.
Presets
The new Presets app for jailbroken iOS 15 and later devices allows users to store, organize, and run shell commands at their leisure and with the highest level of convenience you could imagine.
Power through workflows and never type out another shell command ever again. Save and forget them, and run them with a few taps.
You can learn more about Presets in our full review post.
DynamicNotLand
The DynamicNotLand jailbreak tweak disables the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 14 Pro series devices when it isn’t being used.
The result is that the OLED display activates the pixels between TrueDepth camera elements for a fuller display picture.
You can read more about DynamicNotLand in our full review post.
SettingsWiFiPassword
Have you ever wanted to copy and share your current Wi-Fi network password with others without all the hassle on iOS 15 and earlier? If so, then the SettingsWiFiPassword jailbreak tweak is for you.
You can learn all about SettingsWiFiPassword and why it improves the user experience of these handsets in our full review post.
